Maria Volpe is from Long Island, New York. She is a BFA graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. In Fall 2013 Volpe studied at Trinity Laban Consertoire in London. She has apprenticed for Stefanie Batten Bland. Maria has performed in works by Shen Wei, Larry Keigwin, Keith Thampson, Randy James, Gary Lambert, Graham Lustig, Julia Ritter and John Evans. Volpe premiered her first solo work, Vanishing Point, in November 2014 in collaboration with a live musician. She has also choreographed her own group work titled Ri-peet Ri-pleys, and has recently premiered a duet, 3-7-4-2-3. Volpe is currently dancing as an apprentice for Shen Wei Dance Arts.
